How do blogs get onto the frontpage of WP.com?

  Just kinda curious, I post a great deal and write usually lengthy editorials, I wouldn’t mind being subjected to the great attnention one receives on the “Hot Blogs” and “Hot Posts” categories, how does one achieve that? Is it random, do you submit your blog somehow?

  Just do what you can to promote your blog; all kinds of blogs and blog posts get up there, from quick little jokes to long, philosophical or technical posts.

  But to answer the question, you have to have either the most page views for your blog to wind up on the “Hot Blogs” list. Same thing for the “Hot posts” list but with view counts for a single specific post. The site that TT mentions shows the top100 blogs in a number of categories and languages. The top of these wind up on the front page.

  For comparison, I have a blog that hits the top blogs list on occasion, although not the top top of the list. Takes me about 1,500 views within a day to get on that list.
