how do folks subscribe/follow my blog?

    I started my first blog- https://humorandaging.wordpress.com and put in a brief intro (replacing the given one) and put in my first entry called ‘Expiration Dates.’ I subscribed to it myself. But- when i asked a friend to check it as a new reader there appeared to be some problems:
    1.when she clicked on the blog url to get to it: at the left bottom there is a bolded ‘Follow my blog’ and an unbolded ‘get new content delivered directly to your email’ and beneath it is a box containing ‘enter your email address’ and at the very bottom left there’s a box containing ‘subscribe.’
    Questions: this is very confusing- what is someone supposed to click to become a subscriber to my blog? what does clicking on ‘subscribe’ do? what does providing one’s email in the ‘enter your email address’ box do? how are they different and what should people click who want to be regularly informed of my new posts?
    And how do I make that crystal clear?
    2. When my friend read the Introduction and clicked the ‘read more’ at the end- it brought her to the ‘welcome to my Blog ‘ title and the intro, and beneath it there is a box labeled ‘Previous Post’
    3. when she clicked on ‘Previous Post’she then saw the complete ‘Expiration Date’ essay, and at the bottom there’s a ‘leave a Reply box in which a comment can be written in. There is also a box beneath labeled ‘Expiration Dates.’
    Question – this all seems very confusing- how can i fix it?
    I am eager to send my blog to others- and would appreciate any help in fixing these confusing things- thanks very much.

    Hi there, sorry it’s unclear! The form is supposed to work like this:

    – Reader sees option to follow your site
    – They enter their email address
    – They click Subscribe

    Then they get a confirmation. If you expect that to work differently, can you let us know what you have in mind? We can try to find some options for you.

    Also, when they subscribe to your site, they will get NEW posts, when you publish them. If they click on that post, they’ll see it along with a navigation link to older posts. Again, let us know what you have in mind and we’ll recommend whatever options we can.
