  how do i join someone else’s blog and post pages and stuff.

  The other person who has administrator status on the blog must set it up so you can assume a role on the blog. These are the different roles that the administrator can chose from http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/12/what-are-the-different-roles/

  Once that decision is made then the administrator can make the changes required on his or her blog to make you a “user” – your wordpress.com username and the email address you registered at wordpress.com with are required http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/17/how-do-i-add-more-authors-users-to-my-blog/
