How do I access my followers by email to send them a newsletter? I would like to send a monthly newsletter to my followers through my wordpress.com blog. How do I go about doing that?

If you’d like to send a monthly newsletter to your followers through your WordPress.com blog, you could create a blog post once a month with the newsletter content and it will be automatically delivered to your followers.
If you’d like to give your followers a chance to subscribe to an email newsletter, you could create a contact form on your blog where visitors can give you their contact information. However, there is not a built-in newsletter system at WordPress.com, aside from the email notifications that are sent out for each blog post you publish.

Ok and is there a way to send an automated “welcome letter/newsletter” to new subscribers? I know there’s the little line that pops up but that is very limited. If not, do you have any suggestions for getting what I need?

Hi there,
You can customize the email that new subscribers get under Settings > Reading in your dashboard. Next to “Blog follow email text” you can enter the text you would like to have sent to your new subscribers. I do know about that bit but I was hoping for something more customizable were I can include hyperlinks and such.
