How do I access the old form for posting?
-
I don’t like the new form.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s two editors in use on WordPress.com currently. Many people have complained about the “new” editor and prefer the “classic” editor.
timethief in the forum has prepared a help message :
Please read what Staff said here on March 18th, 2015:
The Classic Editor will continue to exist in wp-admin. We know some users prefer to use this editor, so we want you to have access to it, instead of phasing it out with the new version of the Dashboard. However, a link to the Classic Editor will not return to the New Editor. From: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/when-editing-an-old-post-how-do-i-switch-to-the-classic-editor?replies=5#post-2316097And here
The classic editor will continue to stay in place! from https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/bug-fixes-for-beep-beep-boop-editor?replies=13#post-2340308To use the classic editor to create posts like I do, go to Dashboard > Posts > Add New
Here is the model so you can see the format
http://INSERT_NAME_OF_YOUR_BLOG_HERE/wp-admin/post-new.phpHere is the link to the page on your blog
http://isaprude.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpNote that you can bookmark that link.
To use the classic editor when you edit posts like I do, use the Posts -> All Posts menu, hover over the post title and click the Edit link.

@doncharisma
You helper yourself to my copy and paste and failed to change the links rather than backlinking to my earlier answers in other threads. What’s with that? I do not like it.

@timetheif, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. I used to work in tech support for a number of years, and sometimes have a spare couple of minutes. Other forums I help out in are usually appreciative. Also I know the staff have big workload, so was only trying to be helpful. This was an open community forum, right ?
Cheers

Whoops, sorry didn’t change links, will do next time :)
My feelings are fine thanks but no you won’t help yourself to my comments. You can backlink to them or you can create your own. Those are the two appropriate choices you can make.
Also be clear on the fact that I can detect SEO gaming just as well as I can detect plagiarism and I will report that just like I reprot those who use robotic programs to mass follow and mass like too.
I just read this to refresh my memory https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/remove-follower-from-private-blog?replies=5#post-2187021 and this is to let you know that I have tagged every support forum thread that you inappropriately tagged with your name in the sidebar for Staff so I can be sure that the tags are removed. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/don-charisma
-
P.S. In case you think Staff won’t think what I report is important – think again. They will recall the last person who plagiarized my comments here and used them inappropriately. That person even went to the extent of impersonating me by registering a similar username to plagiarize my comments under and that person is history now.
-
@timetheif, thanks for clarification. I did cite you as the source, plagiarism would imply passing off your work as my own which I didn’t.
And as I said before I worked about 10 years professionally in tech support, so just trying to help in here, which I do on other forums. So no ill intent to you.
-
@doncharisma
Understood but you did not link to the source. Please backlink or create your own responses. That way the nightmare that happened to me in the past when the impersonator who used my copy paste responses went wild on these forums will not happen to any Volunteers again.I was locked out of my own account and had to register a backup username account. Then Staff had to straighten out that colossal mess in forum threads and with Akismet Staff, as well as, giving me access to my account and blogs again.
It’s important that each Staff member and Volunteer has their own unique comments to standard questions from the Akismet perspective because we answer so many questions.
P.S. I do expect that Staff will simply read and then delete all this conversation between us here and in other threads.
-
@timethief, honestly thanks for taking the time to clarify, I do feel dumb now actually … and truly my intention wasn’t to impersonate you, simply trying to help the user and thought your response said it all … so more a compliment to you than anything.
Should probably just have confidence in my own style, which I’ve seen every person in this forum has their own … and now I know why …
I seem to remember hearing about that moron at the time, and thankfully that they’ve gone now, presumably they could have done the same thing to other people on here. Life’s got enough challenges anyway …
Staff will delete, that’s no problem, not a chat room, right ?. Would be grateful as requested before if there’s any way you can help with those inappropriate references to Don Charisma :)
Cheers

We are cool. I understand that you were not ill intended. You now understand that I report many SEO gamers spam blogs, other spam blogs, and mature content blogs to Terms of Service STaff, as well as, answering many support questions here, and the last thing I need is Akismet issues. :)
-
@timethief – I understand, that which I didn’t before, thanks for taking the time to explain :)
Happy Easter
