How do I access the source code of a wordpress site?

  I have a friend that wants help with their site (I am a web developer, but have never worked with WordPresss), and we are trying to figure out a way to get me the source to make edits but we cannot find anything. I even made an account myself and looked through the settings but nothing is there.

  Is this possible?

  No, a site on WordPress.com can not be edited by users (in the classic sense).

  Those with a Premium Plan or the Custom Design module, can still add CSS code, but it is not possible to edit the HTML or add JavaScript code.

  If you require full control over a WordPress site, I would suggest to host it yourself with WordPress software from WordPress.org.
