how do I activate the link on my blog?
-
I just set-up my blog and I am having problems with allowing others to access it…I know that I am doing something wrong. I went up the privacy setting and I made it public, but for some reason, it is still showing private…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Avatars take a few hours to load across WordPress, so check back tomorrow for that.
The link you’ve got associated with your name is incorrect. If you’re giving people that link, it won’t work.
It is not http://(email visible only to moderators and staff)/

Thanks so much, I fixed that earlier today…oops! Also, as far as the pic goes, I set that up three days ago and when I access my blog, the thumbnail version appears at the top of the go address, but it is nowhere to be found on my blog itself…

You can change each blog post or page individually under the edit link to be private or public. So you may have them marked as private but still have the main settings as public. Hope this helps.

Your link is still not fixed. As raincoaster said: it should be http://greeneyedgirl72.wordpress.com
Look at #2 on this list:

Your blog, with the correct http appears to be public.
The ‘blavatar’ will only appear on top. Some themes have an author widget, which would display your gravatar, but yours does not. You can use a text widget to paste the picture into your sidebar, though.

Thanks so much for all of your help. I am still concerned because when I access my blog, it looks like it is public now, but I am be mistaken…now I am accessing it at http://greeneyedgirl72.word.press now, but I am still unsure if it is working, since after I thought I resolved it, the comments above lead me to believe that it is not public…I went into the settings and made sure that link was set-up properly instead of using the @ symbol…and that it is set-up to be viewed publicly, too. Also, I changed my gravatar by re-doing my pic, but what is the difference between an avatar and a gravatar? …thanks again, you guys are so techno educated, I am jealous!

It is not
http://greeneyedgirl72.word.press/
it is
http://greeneyedgirl72.wordpress.com
Computers are fussy about these things.
Gravatar is just an Avatar that works on sites other than WP.com too.

Raincoaster, you are so knowledgeable about all of this, but I am still confused! I went into my profile to verify that I had it set-up like you suggested and when I see what you mean about the difference in the way the address is written…I have under primary blog http://greeneyedgirl72.word.press.com/ not the way you are seeing it and when I click on this link to edit it and remove the / after com, it highlights to blue, but will not let me change it…it has a little check mark next to it, too. Then, when I scroll down and look at the website information, it is written correctly without the /…so, what do I do now? Thank so much, I feel like I am bugging you…but I am grateful!

greeneyedgirl72,
http://greeneyedgirl72.word.press.com/ is not your site’s address: see the extra dot between word and press? The backslash at the end is of no matter. It must say ” http://greeneyedgirl72.wordpress.com ” in your profile already and you’ve typed it incorrectly here in the forum.
“Gravatar is just an Avatar that works on sites other than WP.com too.” It’s the picture of an eye for raincoaster, and mine is a cat.
Then there is the third term: blavatar. That is the picture next to your blog’s address.
See the WordPress logo up at the top of your screen on this page? Your blog has a tiny picture of a face—is that you?

Sorry, too many cuts and pastes while writing—should say:
It must say " http://greeneyedgirl72.wordpress.com " in your profile already
next to “primary blog” and you’ve typed it incorrectly in ‘contact info’ and here in the forum. -
Thanks to all of you, I think I am figuring this out…I actually have it typed correctly now, I think with not extra dots or @ symbols, so it should be all worked out now…also, the pic of me at the wordpress logo is me, so that is good, but I was hoping to have my pic replace my generated one, so I think I solved that one because I did not know it was automatically defaulting to the generated one, so hopefully by choosing the icon gravatar now and replacing it with my pic, it will show up sooner than later…if not, I give up! Thanks again for helping me to resolve the address situation.
