I started the new blog page and the site stats stopped on Aug 1st. I can’t see a way of activating it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there. Stats on WordPress.com sites are completely automatic. There is no way to either activate or deactivate them. If your stats are showing a decline in views it’s most likely because fewer people are viewing your site. As you thus far have only one post I don’t find that strange at all.

Your blog has not had time yet to be indexed by search engines (which can take up to two months), so you won’t be getting any search traffic at this time. I also see that the post was published on 30 July, six days ago. That’s an eternity on the net. That post has long since dropped from the feeds of any RSS readers or social media pages where you had shared it, as newer content replaced it.

The simple fact is if you want constant traffic you need to post regularly, at least three times a week for a start, otherwise you can expect your stats to drop to zero a few days after a new post. This isn’t a fault with the stats page. It’s rather to do with the way people consume content online. The longer something is online, the less likely it is that someone will look at it. Seems the wrong way around, I know, but that’s how it works.
