  how do i add a banner to my blog .

  Easy to answer: advertising is not allowed on our blogs at WordPress.com, so you can’t add this at all. I refer you to the Terms of Service and the FAQ above for specifics, but you’ll see that you clicked YES to an agreement that specifically excludes commercializing your blog.
