How do I add a Blog page?
Go to My Site > Site > Pages to add a page. You can make it into any page you want; there are many Blog templates.

Go to My Site > Manage > People > Invites and add an invite. You can either invite using their username or email; it will be sent to the same person either way, to their email address.

Editors can not only access the page but also edit it, delete it completely and add their own pages. It is advised that you don’t give a user a role with more abilities than what they absolutely need.

For example, if you add a user as an Editor and then they delete all the posts on your blog, they have not “hacked” your site or done anything they were not permitted to do. For this reason, we recommend only adding users whom you trust to your site.

It depends on whether you’d want them to be able to easily upload images/documents etc., and edit after the post is published.
Contributors can make posts and send them to administrators to actually publish. Once they’ve submitted the post, Contributors cannot edit their posts. They can of course ask you to edit them yourself but if you don’t want to do that, you can make them an Author.
Authors can make and publish their own posts, also delete them and edit them once they’re published.
