How do I add a booking form

    Hi. I am creating a travel site which requires online booking with date and price selection options for users. My site is this – https://roceantravels.wordpress.com/

    An example of what I require is what you see here on this site – http://www.sindoferry.com.sg/

    Can someone please advise me on what needs to be done?

    Hello,

    That sort of functionality is rather specialized. There may be a theme available on wordpress.com with that functionality built in.

    You could go on your site under Appearance > Themes, then type “booking” or “hotel” in the search box at the top to see if any resulting themes meet your needs.

    If that doesn’t work for you, you could consider using the WordPress.org version of WordPress, on your own web host. This is very common, and has been made quite easy. If you did that, you could use the “Events Manager” plugin (or another similar one) to do what you want.

    You cannot install your own plugins on WordPress.com — that’s why I suggest considering your own installation. It gives you more freedom to craft custom functions.

    @sheryluma – The Stay theme https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/stay/ has an additional booking widget, which is just a customized contact form. However, I seem to remember that you need to actually sign up for your site through the Hotels landing page for the booking widget to be created for you.

    You can also create your own custom contact form by following the directions here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

    @freakingid – Thank you for your advice. However, the events manager plugin isn’t suited to my needs. Nevertheless, your advice on the upgrade helps. :-)

    @justjennifer – Thank you for your advice too. I have installed The Stay theme now and it does have a booking form within it. I am now looking into customizing it as best as I can.
