How do I add a button on my sidebar?
-
I’ve read all the information on how to drag widgets, but am confused as to which widget I’m suppose to use. I just want to add a buton from another blog on my website. I’ve been trying to do that for two days1 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The easiest way is to use a “Text” widget. Open it and paste in the code from the other blog, close and drag it up.
Alternatively, you could add a new link to your blogroll. It has the option for displaying an image instead of the text.
Can you give a little more information about the other blog? A URL for example?

Thanks Cornell for the reply. The blog is 5minutesformom.com/faithlifts. I wanted to have them add me to their blogroll and in order for them to do that I have to put their button on my sidebar. I already have a textlink on my blogroll but they said it had to be a button. My blog is mirandakay.wordpress.com. I am new at this and not always a quoick learner when it comes to technical stuff. Any advise you could give would be great. Thanks!

I’ve been having the same exact problem – incidentally, with trying to add a button for 5minutesformom, too. I have a text link on my blogroll, but yeah, they want a button.
“Open a text widget?” What does that mean? Open it from Where? How?
As far as adding from the blogroll – I click on “add link,” scroll down to where the add image option is, and then what? There’s Nothing to click ON to Add anything! I’ve been going crazy with this!
Less jargon and some plain English would be nice.

If you need an image link, all you have to do is go back into the Blogroll and provide the image address. It will show up as the image instead of a text link.

click on the blue and white icon on the text widget and the widget will open, make the changes and click “Save Changes”. This is illustrated here
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/12/24/using-the-text-widget/Blogroll – click on “Advanced” and then enter the image code in “Image Address” then click “Add Link”. more on widgets

I went back into the Blogroll. Went to “Advanced.” Entered the image address/code in the box provided. Clicked on “add link” and a bunch of text gobbledy-gook showed up on my sidebar – no image, no button. I must be missing something here. Hmmmm…?
