How do I add a category from my list to pages that I create?

I typed in an article for a page, but can find no way to add categories or tags to it. Also how do I add category to posts that have been submitted but aren’t approved yet? Thanks.

Only posts can have categories and tags, not pages, and you’ll need to wait for the administrator to approve the post before categories can be added.
