How do I add a custom theme? (Set up a personal website to showcase my Environment Advocacy Poetry a

    I just purchased the following personal website plan. Here is a print out:

    **Using a domain I already own through Google Domains, and using a prior WordPress blog, I hoped to integrate the new wordpress personal site with my blogsite, but with a new and upgraded custom theme. When I try to pick a theme, I am directed to ‘upgrade’ which dors not allow me to integrate with the personal site I purchased. What themes do you have that reflects my personal plan that I paiid for?

    I see that your WordPress.com site is on the WordPress.com Personal plan.

    You are eligible to pick from hundreds of free themes available here: https://wordpress.com/themes

    On a site with the Premium or Business plan, you can switch to any premium theme at no extra cost, as many times as you’d like. Without a Premium or Business plan, premium themes may also be purchased individually. You can learn more about it here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/premium-themes/

    If you want to install custom themes on your WordPress.com site, you should be on the WordPress.com Business plan. This pricing page should clarify that: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    With the Personal plan you can choose from more than 100 free themes available here:

    https://wordpress.com/themes/free/

    If you would like to activate a Premium theme you can either purchase it separately or upgrade to the Premium plan. You can also upload any other third-party theme by upgrading to the Business plan.

    @karenlafountain Additionally I’ve removed the transaction information from your above post as these forums are quickly crawled and indexed by search engines. You should never give financial information publicly as it could potentially allow someone to gain access to your account. Sorry we missed it.

    @strikebuys – thank you for tagging this thread for Staff. Additionally, as stated in our Volunteers’ Guide – When to Call In Staff:

    If someone posts sensitive information. This includes passwords, credit card details, phone numbers, and transaction IDs for upgrades. When this happens also tag it with remove personal info.
