How do I add a facebook fan pg widget?

I am trying to copy and paste a facebook fan pg widget into a text widget and am not getting the graphic box, just a working link of letters is appearing. any suggestions? thank you

I am working on the same issues. not able to add facebook fan box widget either via standard or iFrame code. any workarounds out there.

i just added a facebook graphic that links to my fan page, check it out on my blog, maybe that’ll help.

When I click on your fb logo it just goes to my main fb pg wherer the newsfeed is, but nonetheless I can put a generic link up and link it to my fan pg, but I wanted to put the fan pf facebook logo up that would link to it on fb. it might just be a problem with fb, not sure

Iframes, javascript, flash and some others are not allowed here due to security concerns: http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ .
The fan page widget will not work here.

Since you did not give an example what I would assume is that you are seeing it on self-hosted wordpress blogs on third-party hosting services such as godaddy and dreamhost, etc., using the software from wordpress.ORG. .ORG blogs can use it, but we cannot here at the wordpress.COM hosting service. There are restrictions here on the types of code we can use due to security concerns.

Thanks so much for addressing this issue. I spent a lot of time fiddling with my fan page and the fan box widget. I do hope staff adds support for it at some point, since it seems to pull over the blogger platform seamlessly. Certainly not enough reason to switch services. Aside from the clunky connections with Facebook, WordPress has been wonderful.

I am unable to add a proper badge from facebook. I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to add either a badge or a fan box. The badge shows up with facebook logo only and the fan box shows up as text only (to view: http://peacefulbeginnings.wordpress.com/ )

Peaceful, I’m a bit confused too. I added a FB badge to my blog at http://www.dupagelibertarians.org/ a while back, and it worked fine, but now I’m getting the same problem as you when I’m trying to add one to http://www.JoshHanson2010.com/

Which problem, exactly?
As stated above, the Fan Page Widget code provided by facebook will not work here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-add-a-facebook-fan-pg-widget?replies=13#post-389299
Make a text widget containing an image, add some text like “Fan us on Facebook” and put a link to your Fan page in it. That’s the way to do it.
