How do I add a file to my blog for the public to download, and a count down?

Hi! First of all, I just want to say how happy my team and I have been with WordPress’s basic service. Thanks to you’ve we’ve been able to have a wonderful blog that heels our readers engaged

But now our non-profit graphic novel project is almost finished and we want to give our readers free access to the work through our blog.

The file itself may be just under 1GB in size (it’s still being added to). What we would like to be able to do is upload and store the file here on WordPress, then have users come to our blog, click on a link added to a blog entry, and download the file. Do we need to go to premium for this? If so, we will happily do so, but this is really the only extra feature we want, so is it possible to buy this feature only?

Also, we would like to post a countdown timer on our blog that will get people excited about out launch date. Is that possible as well. WordPress used to have a widget for such a thing, but it doesn’t seem to work any more.

We look forward to your reply!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I recommend that you attempt to make the file size smaller than a single gigabyte if you wish to have it stored on your WordPress.com site as a Media File. Just upload it normally and set the Attachment details to Media File.

I recommend that you store it on Google Drive or Dropbox with public access if the graphic novel is to be free. Both services offer a public sharing feature. You will just need to embed the link to the file from their services.

If you are selling the novel, you can use Amazon.com’s services or Sellfy (How To Sell on WordPress.com | Sellfy knowledge base).

The Widget is called Milestone for counting down dates.

    Good luck with your project.
