How do I add a home and about link to the Orvis theme?
-
I added a page and labeled it “About” and it is a link on my right sidebar. I would rather have the “Home” and “About above my blog page as shown on some other Orvis user’s blogs. I just switched from the Booklite theme where home and about was available to just click on.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can get Home, About and other pages above your blog page by adding a menu. You probably already have a menu created in your Menus dashboard screen at https://sweetdaysundertheoaks.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php
Go to the above page, scroll down a bit and tick the Primary Menu check box at the bottom of the page and click Save Menu. Then visit your site and see which pages appear on your menu.
You may have to add or remove some pages from the menu but you can decided which pages to add or remove depending on what appears on the site.
Also, here is a great post that explains how menus work and how to configure them: https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/working-with-custom-menus/

Thank you so much! I tried everything but menu and even googled yesterday and just couldn’t figure it out. Yesterday was the first time I have ever set up a page through Pages. The Home and About has always just been there with other themes I have used. Again, thank you and I appreciate the link to the post of how menus work.
