How do I add a Link ID for blogroll link sorting?
-
The Subject says it all. I see Link ID as a sort option but I sure don’t see where/how to add a Link ID. Help please and thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve been here at wordpress.com for years and the title stumps me. It sounds like wordpress.org question to me. Please post the URL for the blog to which you are referring so we can get started.

In the “links” section of the dashboard it offers a link sorting selection. By Name, Link ID, URL, Rating.

I don’t think that you are intended to add an ID number. I think there will be a number supplied by the software but I can’t find one so I’m throwing in the towel. Either another Volunteer or Staff will have to help you – sorry. :(

I hope someone can follow up on this? Link sequence in blogroll options refers to ID number but I don’t see where there is any ID number to use?
-
The link ID shows up in the progress bar of the browser when you hover under the name of the link (in Links>Edit). You don’t add the ID number anywhere: you just select the order by ID option if you want the links to show up in the order they were created – on the Edit Screen, not the actual blog.
-
So can anyone suggest another option for getting your links in the order you want them, assuming that’s not the order in which you created them?

As mentioned in my post above, sorting (by any kind of order) has to do with the list of links on the Links>Edit screen, not your actual sidebar. I suppose you refer to the latter. For a non alphabetic order, you’ll have to remove the Links widget and write your links in a text widget, using the html code for the so-called unordered list. If you’re not familiar with that, see here:
