So, there is some bad news and some good news:
The bad news: WordPress.com does not permit the addition of meta tags.
The good news: WordPress.com has great SEO right from the get go. It is already optimized to help your blog get the best ranking it can with search engines.
With that in mind, there are a few avenues that you can take.
You mentioned that you found out how to do this for google analytics, so I’m guessing you have discovered how to use the Webmaster Tools. This is a great way to get more information on how people are accessing your site. If you aren’t aware of this, here is some documentation on how to utilize these tools: http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/The best way to optimize your blog is to publish new posts and to update your blog on a regular basis. There are other little things that you can do. Here is a great blog post that explains WordPress SEO and what you can do: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/seo-on-wordpress-com/
However, if you absolutely need to have more control over your blog, I would recommend self hosting your WordPress site instead of hosting it on WordPress.com. This will enable you to have full control over your SEO content but you will have to do the upgrades and maintenance yourself. depending on what that means – you might very well have a Terms of Service issue with your blog – one blog is empty and the other one goes to a strange site so we can’t offer you real accurate advice as there is no link to a live site with content
