How do I add a personal title to my posts that display in the reader?

    When I look in my reader, the sites I follow have a title (mainly their site name) next to their gravatar but when I get to one of my own posts, it says [no title]. I can’t find where to fix that! Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    The title you see in the Reader is the Site Title that you can enter under Settings > General in your blog’s dashboard. Since you don’t have a title entered there, it says “[no title]” in the Reader. You can add a title on that settings page to give your site a title. :)

    Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

    Weird, I know I had that filled out at one point! Thanks for finding that!

    OK, so I figured out what the problem was. I took out the title because I didn’t want it displayed on my blog since my logo has my title in it! Is there a way to have a title there so that the reader will show one but not have it display in my blog header??

    Sure thing! There are a couple ways you can deal with this:

    1. You can remove all of your header text (both the site title and tagline) from your blog by going to Appearance > Customize > Site Title. There, you can uncheck “Display Header Text” to remove that text from your header. However, this isn’t the best option if you want to remove your site title but keep the tagline on there.

    2. You can use custom CSS to just remove the site title. Here’s some CSS you can use for that:

    .logo-text h1 {
    display: none;
    }

    That way, you can have a site title for places like the Reader and in search engines, but it won’t show up on your blog — and the tagline will still show up. Please let me know how that goes. :)

    OK, so it isn’t working on my mobile site! It shows the title! Help!

    Hi there,

    This has to do with the CSS that’s used on the mobile version of your site. This is a bit beyond the help I can provide, but the CSS experts in the CSS Customization forum can give you a hand with figuring out how CSS works on mobile:

    Be sure to include a link to your site and description of what you’ve done so far, and they can help guide you to a solution. :)
