How do I add a picture to my sidebar?

  Hi!

  I am brand new to blogging and WordPress in general, so forgive me if the answer to this question is obvious.

  I understand how to add a picture to my blog. However, I would like to add a picture as part of my blog theme. Here is the link to my blog: http://neilholland.wordpress.com/

  I would essentially like to add a picture to the side, potentially above the “Links” widget. Is there a way to do this?

  One word on images in sidebars is that the width is of course limited so you might have to play around with image sizes. Typically usable sidebar width is anywhere from 150 to 200 pixels.

  MistyLook is about 180px maximum.
