How do I add a ‘select categories’ widget?

  Hi there,

  Go to Appearance ->Customize ->Widgets ->Sidebar, click the + button, and search for the Categories block. The old Categories widget used on that other site was retired some time ago, but the Categories block now exists in its place, and works basically the same way, though it might look slightly different:
