How do I add a self hosted site to the new Windows App?
-
Thank you. Would you try reconnecting Jetpack? I’m not seeing any Jetpack sites on your account from our end.

Hello,
Jetpack is getting a 403. Where is the jetpack server located? Was it moved? I employ country blocking on my servers.

The IP addresses will change from time to time, so specifying a list of IPs won’t work in the long term.
The Jetpack team recommends protecting your xml-rpc in some other way:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/allow-xmlrpcphp-for-jetpack-onlyIn fact, that’s an older comment…. Jetpack now has xml-rpc protection built in:

I had seen those threads… I had it blocked at the htaccess level to take the load off the server at a higher level. I’m not so worried about any breach of the sites. Thanks for your help you can close the ticket unless you want to keep it open for the others.

We’ll keep it open since we had some shoot-off threads here, but if anyone else is having trouble, I’d encourage them to open a new thread :)

Only because the other issues in this thread seem pretty unrelated to the first. :) Maybe just tag them Windows App and modlook them for us.
For what it’s worth, though, the windows app is very much like the mobile apps, which are all based in Calypso (the new blue interface we’ve been working on for quite a while now). As long as .org sites are connected, it should just work the same as it would for a .com site using a browser.
