How do I add a tag to a category?

    I am totally confused as it relates to tags. I understand categories but want to add tags to my photos. My webgsite is: http://www.marynellmoore.wordpress.com. Example: I have a category titled “Animals” and I want to add a tag to my black lab photo. I want the tag to be “Dogs.” I would appreciate simple steps as to how I accomplish that.

    Should I eliminate the Categories and just use Tags? Which is the best?

    Tags and categories are identical at WordPress.com. The only real difference is the category widget will display all your categories, whereas the Tag Cloud widget displays only your first 45 tags.

    Images cannot be tagged. Only posts can be tagged or categorized.
