How do I add a thumbnail to my site????

    How do I add a thumbnail to my site. It seems as if I need to insert this “add_theme_support( ‘post-thumbnails’ );” into the CSS, but when I click on my customizer there is no CSS? I am using the theme Eighties. Can someone please explain what I am doing wrong?
