How do I add a user login to my blog?

  How can I add a user login to my blog, on the sidebar? I want users to just have to register, and when coming back just enter their information in the login sidebar, and presto they are logged into their dashboard. What I’m looking for is exactly what can be found on http://www.gianmariatogni.ch/blog/index.php
