how do I add a video from my pc to my blog?
-
Hello,
I want to add a video in the FLV format to my blog. I know how to link to videos from YouTube and other sites but not from my own pc. Please advise on how to do this or point me to a link with instructions.
Before I get attacked I will inform you that yes I searched the FaQ and forum but did not see an answer. If it is there I overlooked it and aplogoze. Please no attacks. Thank You.

You cannot link from your own PC. You will have to upload it to someplace like youtube, or perhaps box.net.

Not true. You can upload using the wordpress video player, but you have to pay for the upgrade to do this. I personally can’t understand why they don’t offer the video capability as a package so people can actually take real advantage of all that extra free space, but that’s the way they do it.

Ok – Thank you all. So it seems I can only do this if I purchase an upgrade. And if I want to add a video of my own I must use box.net or an equivalent – correct?
Thanks again.

Yes, you will have to host it elsewhere and either put it in the Vodpod widget or upload it to one of the already-approved video formats to post in the blog, like YouTube. It’s very much like images, which you can upload to WP and then display or host elsewhere and display, but it has to be uploaded SOMEWHERE first.

sondan,
You can host videos with your wordpress.com account, but you need to purchase a space upgrade in order to do this.
