How do I add a voting system to my posts?
-
I’m trying to find if there is a viable method for adding in-post voting setups, akin to what you’d see on site like Reddit; The poll functions are far too cumbersome and complicated for my needs, as I basically just need a widget or code snippet that could tally user votes, preferably with a cookie or IP-based method of blocking vote spamming.
Do you know what widget or code I could use for this? I do not have the ability to host it anywhere besides wordpress.com, so plugins are unfortunately not an option as far as I can tell right now.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to the support docs at http://support.wordpress.com
Type ratings into the search box and click.

Then you have to hire a web host http://wordpress.ORG/hosting and move your content into a wordpress.ORG install.

Unfortunately, the ratings aren’t inside of a post, as what I’m looking for is a method for me to have readers be able to vote up or down multiple items within a single post.

As I mentioned above, I’m not able to afford currently to move to a self-hosted site, so I’m looking for solutions that I can apply within the wordpress.com framework.

I am sorry I was not clear. There are no solutions for what you want to do, using a wordpress.com blog.

Sorry. I have answered questions here for 9 years and if I knew a workaround I would have posted it above. Best wishes with your blog.
