How do I add a widget?
-
I can’t find the appearance section or widget section to add a widget to my blog. It is not in the sidebar.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Pleas use the step by step learn WordPress.com blogging tutorial Staff have linked to the bottom of your Admin page at http://learn.wordpress.com
All widgets provided by WordPress.com are described here (click through for details on individual widgets) > http://en.support.wordpress.com/category/widgets-sidebars/
Note that no iframe codes, JavaScript, blogger initiated advertizing codes or affiliate codes can be used on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
-
Every theme has a default sidebar display of what appears to contain widgets but does not. When you select widgets of your own choice here > Appearance > Widgets, click each one to open it, configure where required, click “save” and click “close” inside the widgets you will over-ride the default sidebar display.

Are you logged in under the exact same username that registered the blog and who is the Admin of the blog? If not then you will not be able to access that setting.
-
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If required click the “Need More Help” link and complete the form for account recovery. -
Oh I just signed in as the admin/creator of the blog and now I see the widgets. Thank you for your help!
