How do I add About section to blog heading? And other sections?
-
You are so great!! I MAY have fixed it…but I cannot get it to be at the top. It’s in some strange section below. I want to make links either right on top or right below the record player. Do you know how? Again, I am so sorry and thank you so much.

Hi there,
No problem! You hadn’t selected the menu that you created (About Me) in the Theme Location (on the Menu page) – you had selected a blank menu instead (Articles), so I added About Me to Theme Location for you. I see it right above the image of the record player now.
I hope that helps you!

You are so kind and thank you so much. But how do I add info. to it after you click on it? I don’t want people to scroll down. I would love it if they click on the sections and THEN text appears. How do I do this? Also, why are the pages showing up twice–on the top above the record player and on the right, to the side? I only want them in one place on the screen–above the record player. Again, I am so sorry for all the questions.

Hi there,
If you remove the Pages widget from your widget page:
https://siasblogdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.phpYou’ll see that option on the right sidebar go away.
I’m not sure what you’re asking re: adding info after you click it.
If you add information to the pages you’ve added (About Me, Blogs I Like) in your Dashboard, then information will appear on those pages. Once a reader clicks on the menu item About Me, they’ll see any text you’ve added to that page. Is that what you’re asking? I’m sorry if I don’t understand the question yet!

It’s my mistake. There are two problems. The first is that when you click on About me or Blogs I like– the text appears BELOW the record player. I want it to be another separate page. Instead I want someone to click on it, and a separate window to appear that is separate from the blog.
The second problem is that it shows up on the right side of the screen. I only want the About me and Blogs I like to be on the top.
I’m really sorry this is taking so long. Can I just pay someone to fix it? Thanks again!

Hi there,
The way your theme works, there is always a header image, and it’s the same on every page, so all text will appear below that. Clicking those links (About me) will take them to a new page, it just looks a lot like the home page!
Right now there is not a way to open a new page on a click – it will just navigate the current window to that page.
The reason you see your pages on the right sidebar is because you have the Pages widget enabled there. On your Widgets page it is the second widget enabled:
https://siasblogdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.phpYou can disable this widget by opening it and clicking “delete” or by dragging it out of the container it is in.
I hope that helps!

Thanks for your help. I tried to delete just the sections on the right side, the About me, etc. but I wound up deleting all of the blog posts from the front page. How do I get them back? Thanks.

Thanks again. One more thing. Do you know of any free or even cheap themes where I can do what I want to do–be able to click on a page and have it go to another page?
Thanks.

WordPress.com offers many free themes! http://theme.wordpress.com/
I don’t know all of the features off-hand, unfortunately.
You may want to look for something like a featured slider on the homepage, that wouldn’t be on the other pages.

Thank you. And I promise last question. So that’s what it’s called when you click on a tab and another new page/window appears–it’s called a slider??
Thanks and last one, I promise.

The slider shows some featured images across the homepage, but it won’t show those featured images on other pages, so it makes the homepage look distinct from other pages.
I hope that helps!
