How do I add an existing blog (WordPress) to Goodreads and Amazon?

I set up a WordPress blog yesterday and then tried to add it to my accounts at Goodreads and Amazon. Both came back with error messages. I left it a few hours, debooted and rebooted, and then tried to add it again, but still got error messages. I tried it again today, but still got error messages. I had a reasonably good look through the various introductory pages here but only find material on linking to Facebook, Twitter, etc.
At Amazon, I went to my author profile page, which has a section on blogs. I clicked on “add blog”. A small window comes up: “Add an RSS feed”. I added my blog URL, with http:// at front, and /feed/ at end which is Amazon’s instruction. But I got an error message: “The URL is invalid or this is the web page URL not the RSS URL. Please check for spelling or other errors.” I checked it and I’m sure it’s all correct.
At Goodreads, you go from your Dashboard, clicking “view your blog”, then select “sync with a pre-existing blog”. You then type in the “External blog feed URL”. There’s no instruction on adding /feed/ but I’ve tried with and without. I get an error message: “External feed url doesn’t seem to exist.”
I haven’t added a post or anything to my blog as yet but I don’t think that would make any difference. Amazon says that old posts don’t come over to Amazon and you’d have to re-enter them. So I thought I would add the blog feed first (to Goodreads and Amazon), then post.
It’s not working though.

They will continue to have error messages until you make some blog posts. That is the problem.
