How do I add an external "follow" button to my blog?

    I recently made the switch over to a self-hosted WordPress blog, but there are still a few things I’m trying to get the hang of. On my WordPress.Com blog, there was a “Follow” button on the upper part of my blog for visitors to click. I would like to have this button on my self-hosted blog, but I can’t figure out how to do it.
    I used the “Follow Blog Generator” to create the embed code for the button, but I’m unsure what to do with it/where to paste it.

    I was instructed to “paste anywhere that supports JavaScript embeds to add the Follow button,” but I have no idea how to do that.
    I’d really appreciate if someone could assist me with this. I’m a newbie at self-hosting!
