How do I add an icon and a list of pages on the left?

I just have the default page icon, which is awkwardly spaced. I want my own icon up there.
Also, I need to add a menu of pages on the left.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

By default, Ryu will display the site owner’s Gravatar in the header. You can set your Gravatar at: https://sv.gravatar.com/emails/
Ryu doesn’t display a menu as a default to keep it as simple as possible. Of course, if your blog needs a menu you can easily set up a Custom Menu: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus
