how do I add columns to my page?
-
I made a table with Word with columns to demonstrate cost comparisons. It’s got 4 columns and 6 layers. I would like to either cut-and-paste or re-do the whole thing on my page, but I can’t find anything to make columns.

You can find out how to make columns for your WordPress.com posts and pages here:

I’m not up to coding yet. Any other way? I attempted to insert ‘grid’ , but that didn’t seem to do anything.

You have a few options.
You can try to find a theme that, by default, displays content in a way that is more to your liking:
https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/four-columns/
You can try using tables, which you can do with HTML:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/#tables
Alternatively, you can use Markdown:
