How do I add content/posts to specific pages for my hosted blog?

New to wordpress, trying to figure out when I create a new page on the site, how do I post content directly to that page?

I’ve seen other blogs on here that do this, but I did notice it looked like they were archived to that section. Is this how you do this, if so how do I do that?

My blog is Sandiegowildernesstours.com and the page I’m referencing is the Mission Trails Regional Park but I planned on adding many other pages in which the appropriate content would be housed under.

Thanks for the guidance and information.

  • Pages are a form of content, like posts, so they can’t actually contain posts.

Instead, I recommend using your categories and category archive pages.

I’ve seen this as an option, but I’m having trouble finding exactly what I need to do. If I have a category, for my blog say “outdoor”, what do I do to make this a page option on the navigation?

I’m trying to have a navigational structure that lays out my content in an easier more intuitive way to read for a user. I created a page which I wanted to add content to for specific topics, but if what I need to do is have a link in the navigation for these topics that would work as well as I assign all my posts to the right categories.

    I appreciate the help.

  • You can add your categories to the navigation bar by creating your own menu at Appearance -> Menus in your blog’s Dashboard.
