How do I add events to calendar

I would like to add events, to my WordPress.com blog’s calendar. However, the calendar just shows the title and NOT the actual events. In fact, I’m not able to add events in the first place! I did some research and found that there’s a plugin/widget called Spider Event Calendar. It would allow me to do what I’d like to, but I can’t get it for WordPress.COM, its only for ORG. What do I do to show my calendar and events?!?

The events are added at Google Calendar: https://www.google.com/calendar/render. Just click on a date and add an event. Then create the calendar, and share it on WordPress as described in the WP Google Calendar support page.
