how do I add further options to the navigation menu at the top of my site?
-
I have the standard ‘blog’ and ‘contact’ that came with the theme I chose. I want to split the ‘blog’ posts into two sections – blog posts and creative writing posts. Can anyone talk me through this? Whenever I try I end up with the name of the pieces all across the top navigation menu :(

Hi there!
I want to split the ‘blog’ posts into two sections – blog posts and creative writing posts
I will be happy to help :) There will be a few steps:
- We need to unset the blog page and set the static home page. At the moment your “Home” page is in drafts, please publish it and go to Settings > Reading and change it like this:

2. We need to have two pages, one for blog posts, you can use the current “Blog” page for that and create another page, for example “Creative Writing”.
3. Each page should have a Blog Posts block https://wordpress.com/en/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/blog-posts-block/ where you can decide, based on tags added to posts which posts will be displayed on this page. Remember to add those tags to your posts.
4. Navigation; your theme automatically displays all pages in the menu so it should be done automatically. However, if you want to customize the menu you can do that by adding a new primary one in Appearance > Customize > Menus. Guide: https://wordpress.com/support/menus/create-a-menu/#create-a-menu-in-the-customizer
