How do I add my husband’s blog ….
-
I’m very new to Word Press!!!! I’m trying to link my husband’s blog on a side bar. I want to use a picture instead of an actual text address like my blog rolls. I hope I have made sense. I hope I have fixed the name and blog thing. If not here is my address http://frogslilypad.wordpress.com
Thanks for any help.

I know that I might sound impatient. I’ve been working on setting up my blog today. I’m amazed about the difficult time I’m having.

You must upload the picture and put it in a text widget, using this code model:
<a href="BLOG_URL_HERE"><img src="IMAGE_URL_HERE"></a>
The picture must be small enough to fit in the text widget or it might mess your sidebar. Alternately, you can use the same code with the addition of a scaling-down command, e.g.:
<a href="BLOG_URL_HERE"><img src="IMAGE_URL_HERE" width="90" /></a>
(90 is an example – best number depends on the theme you’re using.) -
Here’s the FAQ on this http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/18/put-an-image-in-your-sidebar/

OK, I got the picture in. But how do I link his blog with the picture. I guess what I’m trying to ask is. When you click on the picture it will take you to his blog.
Thanks

For that you use the coding that panghiotsadam gave you earlier. The
<a href="...>...</a>is what gives you the link. -
Thank you!!! One more question…(I’m not to smart about this) When you point to the picture. It shows my word press address infront of his link. How do I take that off?
-
Could you copy and paste the code that you’re using into a comment here so that we can see what the problem might be. You’ll need to put backticks around the code (the key beside the number 1 on your keyboard) – see below the reply box.

For some reason my cut and paste does not work. I hope I got it typed in correctly
-
Nope. You need to put the backticks on either side of the code, so that it doesn’t convert the code into an actual link.

>a href="http://fireballspulpit.blogspot.com"><imgscr="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3181/2950253012_064fabd874_o.jpg"></a>this is what is in the widget text.
-
It looks fine apart from the first bracket. It should be:
<a href="http://fireballspulpit.blogspot.com"><imgscr="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3181/2950253012_064fabd874_o.jpg"></a>That will give you a link to http://fireballspulpit.blogspot.com
What exactly is the problem that you are finding?
-
Hmm. I went and checked and your picture is linked to this address: http://frogslilypad.wordpress.com/fireballspulpit.blogspot.com. Check in your text widget that you haven’t got this by mistake. Otherwise, I’m afraid I don’t know what would be causing that.
-
Oh, also, though I don’t know if this would cause the problem you’re finding, there should be a space in your code:
img scrnotimgscr -
When you point to the picture on my side bar, down at the bottom of the screen it shows
http://frogslilypad.wordpress.com/fireballspulpit.blogspot.comwhen you click on it, it takes you to an empty wordpress page not found
