How do I add non-wordpress users to a private blog?

  I want to create a blog that a few family and friends can view. None of them have wordpress blogs, so none of them have wordpress IDs, which seems to be the only way to add people to a private blog. Seems like adding them must be possible, I’m just trying to figure out how.

  I’m afraid that the users you invite will have to create a WordPress.com account, but not necessarily a blog, however.
