How do I add photos from media library to gallery??

  This seems as if it should be easy, but I can’t figure it out. I’d like to add a picture from the media library to the gallery for a post, but it will only let me add the single picture to the post. Thanks!

  I have the same question. I have found this info sites helpful but has not solved my issue as after I click “save changes” it does not bring me to the “insert gallery” as an option.

  The site linked to your name has galleries. Have you figured this out already?

  The gallery of a post includes the pictures that are attached to that post.
  When you write a post, the pictures you upload while you edit that post go into the “gallery” for that post.
  When you use the gallery shortcode in that post, all of the pictures attached to that post (ie. the pictures you uploaded for that post) will appear in the gallery.

  If you want to include images that you uploaded while editing another post, or images you uploaded to the media library, then you need to include the image ID number.

  Note: To get an attachment ID for an image, go to your Media Library and hover over the image title you want to exclude. You can find the ID in the URL (the number after attachment_id=).

  Are you using the “flash uploader” or the “browser uploader” when you add pictures from your computer:
  flash upload = add many pictures at once
  browser upload = add 1 picture at a time

  Once you upload your images (either way), then close the pop-up window and return to edit post (or page).

  Click “add image” icon again. The “add an image” pop-up window will appear again. You have a choice in that window:
  From computer
  From URL
  Gallery (# here)
  Media Library

  If you want to add a gallery, then click on the Galley and voila you pictures will be added to your post.

  Note that you won’t see them unless you “preview” the post or “publish” the post.

  Adding an image I’ve uploaded while editing another post is exactly what I’m trying to do! Could you maybe go into more detail about that process? Where do I add the ID number from the single picture?
