how do i add plugins

    PROJECT 2:

    This is the project i spoke to you earlier where i want to create a portal with dads paintings as well as other regional artists. The concept is to allow each artist to create their personal intro page on the portal and allowing them to upload their works with description, pricing, size, .. during the first 3 months or so all artists can upload their works and display them on this portal. However after that time they will have top pay a fee to upload each painting. Along with this source of revenue we will sell ad space for exhibition halls and related organizations to advertise on. So keeping this project in mind here are some of the questions:

    1. What theme would you recommend for this project
    2. Can the development of this portal be done without subscribing to the Business Plan as it will take a few months to go live and we will waste three months of our subscription in development. If it is possible to develop the entire portal without business plan than we can purchase the business plan on going live?

    Hello again!

    Answers to all your questions below:

    We are almost done with layout and artwork page looks good. I have written to PayPal to find out the best way of creating the buttons are all paintings are different prices so does that mean i have to create a separate button for each painting? Waiting to hear from them.

    Yes, if you didn’t want to upgrade to a business plan, with a shopping cart, you would need a different button for each painting.

    1. Is there anyway of copywriting the paintings to no one can copy and paste them from the website? Or if they do then they will see a big Copywrite watermark across the paintings?

    Most of the artists with WordPress.com sites use image captions to display copyright information. There is not a way to “lock” or watermark an image on WordPress.com.

    This leads right into your next question:

    2. Its time to take the website live. What do you recommend as the best solution:
    – To point the godaddy nameservers to wordpress
    – or to move the website to godaddy

    You can do either one. There are benefits to each. Here is the breakdown of the differences between WordPress.com and self-hosting via WordPress.org:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    You do have access to us, the support team, at WordPress.com. On WordPress.org, you’re on your own, but do have access to the WordPress.org support forum, where fellow users might be able to answer your questions.

    On a self-hosted site, you would be able to install plugins. A plugin, for instance, might give you the capability of watermarking images, or creating a shopping cart.

    How do i put the Posts in sequence? I want Music on Canvas as the first post and then the rest.

    Hey there!

    They are currently appearing in the order which they were published. Considering your solutions, I think you best bet will be to make the Music on Canvas post “sticky” so it stays at the top.

    Can you please also share any websites that have the capability of the New Project.

    The problem with creating ‘authors’ is that firstly i believe i will have to individually authorize everyone. Secondly any artist visiting the website will not be able to create their account unless they somehow send me an email and i authorize them to create their account?

    Is that true?

    This is true. If you want people to be able to contribute to the website, they will have to be WordPress.com users who are members of your site. If you don’t want this to happen, the only other solution is for you to do all the work. The can send you their material, and you will have to manually publish it to the site.

    BTW what is ‘image caption’?

    Some themes allow for a caption to appear underneath media such as an image. Your theme, Museum, does allow for this.

    Here are instructions on adding captions:

    Take a look at the Attachment Settings section.

    Also the heading menu buttons are not centered; they are aligned towards the left. How do i center them?

    You can do this by changing your theme’s CSS code. To do so, click Appearance → Customize in your site’s Dashboard. Then, click CSS in your right-hand menu. In the CSS Revisions box, please paste the following underneath all existing text:

    .main-navigation {
    display: inline-flex;
    }

    Then Save your changes.
