You don’t post to nay more that a single page on a blog, discounting the fact that when you publish the posts will also appear in the Archives and in the Categories pages which you assigned to them.

The front page of a blog is where the posts are going to display in reverse chronological order with the most recent post on top unless you choose to change that to another static page that you create.

Please read this entry so you clearly understand the differences between posts and pages. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

If you wish to know what the consequences of changing the conventional post based structure of a blog to a page based mock website structure are then you may want to read the post I published on this topic. Simply copy and paste the link below minus the square brackets into your upper browser bar and click. I have over 400 posts in multiple categories in a blog. They all displayed on the front page of my blog immediately after publication. They all have multiple categories assigned to them. When any Category link is clicked all the posts in that Category can be found.

Is my blog structured so it has a top horizontal menu with
Category 1, Category 2, Category 3, Category 4 across the top of the blog?

    No.

Are we getting any warmer? :) What I need to know is whether or not you give a hoot about your blog having an easy time or a hard time when it comes to gaining backlinks to your posts from other bloggers and earning authority and a PageRank form Google.

If you do care about those factors then you will prefer to have a conventionally structured blog.

If you don’t care about them then you will have a static front “landing page” rather than posts on your front page. Your blog will become a page based structure that resembles a website, and it when it comes to earning backlinks, authority and PageRank that will be hard to accomplish.
