How do I add posts to my featured slider with the terrible new editor?
-
My theme has a featured slider and I can’t find a way to add photos with the new editor. I’m really unhappy with the new editor, by the way. I’m beginning to look to move my blog.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey Cheri,
My theme has a featured slider and I can’t find a way to add photos with the new editor.
The two areas to add images ( as it appears you have already done? ) are:
https://cloudup.com/cUAbmTzv0rIFYI: If you don’t like the new editor, you can still use the classic version. We’re keeping it up and running for the users who are more comfortable with it. Your classic dashboard can be found here:
https://iloveitalianmovies.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
I suggest bookmarking that link, so you can go straight to the Dashboard whenever you want to post, or modify your site. There’s no need to interact with the new editor, if you don’t want.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much!

Yes I have more questions.
I figured out how to get back to the old editor, after searching for it a while. If I go to the list of posts and then edit from there I can get back to old editor. Not exactly convenient, but it works.
There is no longer a link on the new editor to do that. But there is no way to do it from my ipad. I travel to film festivals with my ipad – have you made it useless to me for blogging?
And why are so intent on dumbing down WordPress?
And are you promising that we will always be able to get to the old editor?

Hello there,
Actually, I suggest using the WordPress.com App on your iPad:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/apps/Otherwise, if you want to use the classic editor from a browser on your mobile device, you can. Again, like you did on your computer, just create a bookmark or add a link/icon from your iPad’s home screen.
You will have full access to the classic editor. We’re not changing this.
Thanks again.

I DO use the WordPress app – of course. It really doesn’t work very well any other way. If you could tell me how to add featured images from the WordPress app on my ipad that would be great.

Hi there,
When your post is open in the editor of your WordPress.com app, click the Settings icon (the cog) at the top of your page. Your Options page will open, and your Set Featured Image link is at the bottom of the page.
I hope that helps! Take care, and thanks.

Hi Cheri,
The featured image will display properly on the rest of your site, but the question is how to add it to your slider from your app. I think we should go straight to the horse’s mouth. Since you have a premium theme, you have direct access to the theme’s developer. Let’s get his advice on how to make sure your image displays properly on your site slider.
Here is your support forum for Watson:
https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/watsonPlease add your issue there, and I will subscribe to the topic, so I can make sure you’re able to add new slider posts.
While you are waiting for an answer, I have a workaround for you — it’s not ideal, but it will do the trick — you can log into WordPress.com on your iPad’s browser, go to the classic editor, and make sure your post is added to the slider as you wish. Like I said, it’s not the expedient course of action, but it will work until your theme developer has a more streamlined solution.
Thanks much. I’ll be keeping an eye out for your conversation on the Watson support board.
