How do I add "read more" tag

  Hi. I have searched and search but I cannot figure out how to add a “read more” tag into my posts. I am using the Bakersville theme. Is this feature possible? Do I have to change themes? Is this available in other themes? I would appreciate any advice. I’m pretty new to this so please don’t tell me I need to recode because that is like asking me to do brain surgery.
