How do I add site title and tagline without it displaying on the blog?

  • Unknown's avatar

What I want to do is type in my site title and tagline so it will display on the tab up by my favicon.

The problem is that doing so in my theme (Bold Life) makes it so that the title and tagline appear on the actual blog itself, which I don’t want because I have a banner image.

Right now, all that displays on the tab for blog visitors is “thenewpolis.com”, but I would like it to say “The New Polis: Freedom and Community” or something like that.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Search engine spiders cannot read text in images. You can create a header image and put the tagline text in it. Taglines are optional but search engine spiders expect to find them here > Settings > General > Tagline. Blog titles are not optional and if search engine spiders do not find them at > Settings > General > Site Title you may have issues with getting your content indexed. The Bold Life theme lacks the ability to suppress display of header text at > Appearance > Header. You may want to choose another theme that has that option > http://wordpress.com/themes/
