How do I add stars to my post?

How can I put stars for rating the books I read from my p.c.? When I write a post on my android phone I can put stars into the post , but not when I do it on my laptop. When I review a book I want to say how many stars I think it´s worth.

So That looks like if I type :star: :star: :star: i will get three stars on the post .Is that right?

That should do the trick. The link timethief supplied is to allow users to rate your posts if you want to give them that ability.@timethief

Nope that didn´t work. Just gave me the words and dots. I will just have to carry on only posting from my phone.

Check under Settings ->Writing that you have emoticons enabled.
Another option is to use a program like Windows Paint to create your own images for the different star ratings. You can then upload those into your media library and simply add them to posts as needed.

You could try visual editor row 2 icon 7 for custom characters

There’s a star in the 4th row and 7th position there.

I know! In my defence, without my glasses I’m also blind as a bat. Not an excuse here, though – I’m near-sighted, so computer screens shouldn’t be a problem.

My browser is Chrome. I´m not looking for ratings for me. I want to put stars on the books I review to say what I think of the book. I have given up trying to do it on the computer. It´s much easier through the App on my phone.
