How do I add submit button on Contact form

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi

Apologies, I posted this on a mobile and got an email confirmation, but as a few days have gone by and I cannot find it on the forum, I am re-posting in case something has happened to it. So apologies if this is a duplicate.

I have read the wp page on adding a contact form and although very good and it even states how to change the recipient address, I am somewhat confused.

I cannot find anything on how to send/submit the form, i.e. how to add a ‘submit’ button. I added the given form short code thinking a button would appear, but it didn’t.

I am having problems finding the admin pages that are also given in the instructions as the old format, as was hoping this may offer a button.

Have I misunderstood or can you advise where I get instructions on how a user submits a form?

    Thanks

    Rob

When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you.

How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then we subscribe to this thread so we are notified when they respond. Hi

Thanks for your help, still a little lost but if you have done it so ‘staff’ can see it, then cool, thanks.

The link you give is what I worked from but I can see nothing on how to put a submit button in – unless how I assumed it should go in automatically and for some reason has not…. Let’s see what they say.

    thanks again

I believe they appear automatically but as I don’t know that for sure I made sure that you would get a correct answer by tagging the thread for a Staff response.

    Ok, thanks.

My only thought is that if there is nothing wrong with what I have done or my site, then maybe the ‘owner’ cannot submit to themselves – but then you cannot test, so unlikely.

Let’s see what they say, Ta

Okay so if you log out, clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and give it a whirl yourself, without logging in and using a different email address then you would know for sure.

Hi @cortrapacaolcom: I’m glad to see that you and Kristen chatted via email, and that you were able to figure out the submit button wasn’t visible due to the light custom colour that had been set for links on your site. I took a look at your contact form and can now see that you’ve changed the colour so that the submit button is visible.

Let me know if you still have any questions around that or if I can be of help with anything else.

    Hi

    Yes all is now working.

One thing I did reply in the email about, was understand the colour scheme pallet. I am not sure if this should be addressed to theme support.

I see the colour pallets which are represented by 3 bars of colour, what i am unsure of is where each colour is applied. So is the first always the main background, second footer and third buttons? Are there more options?

I have looked online but everything is about the psychology of colours….

Any help or guidance to documents would be appreciated.

    Yours

    Rob

    Hi Rob.

Each theme uses custom colours in different ways and so you won’t find any “one size fits all” answer to this question.

In the case of Business Identity, the first “Main Accent” colour is the theme’s primary colour. It is used as the background to the header and footer, as well as in other area of the theme.

The second “Secondary Accent” colour is used as a complement to the first colour. It can be found in less prominent places of the theme, such as the background to the custom banner on the homepage.

Lastly, the “Links” colour defines the colour of links on the site.

It’s worth noting that automatic adjustments are sometimes made for readability. e.g. If you choose a really light colour for both “Main Accent” and “Links” then the theme should automatically detect that some adjustment is needed and create a darker colour for “Links.”

Hope that’s helpful and helps clarify the custom colours on this theme!
