how do I add the “digg this” button to my posts?
-
I would like to add the “Digg This” tool to some of my posts. My apologies if the answer is already here and I missed it. Anyone know how to integrate this? Thanks.

Just to cut down confusion the hyper link I provided
in my previous post links to the wp.com “FAQ” page
on how to add a digg button to your post… :) -
Do they ban IP numbers at Digg? I am trying to register a new account after possibly being banned weeks ago and I cannot find a way to register now. Or is it a problem with Digg at the moment?

I couldn’t log in for awhile after I set up my acct and thought digg banned me
but it was a problem on there end… Can you login through your old acct:
if you can’t then wait a couple days and if you still can’t login then contact
digg to find out if you were banned from there site… -
Hey,
if you’re interested in social bookmarking icons (such as ‘Digg’) you can use GetSocial to automatically add many social bookmarking icons to your posts.
GetSocial is easy, reliable and free!Get it here:

I sent them an email after it happened and they said to clear cookies and cache. Like I didn’t know that already. I have it bookmarked and it goes here http://digg.com/error Now when I log in it says
An unknown fatal exception has occurred
Whoa! Something blew up. If you think you reached this error in error please do not hesitate to contact support.

I had the same error before and I contacted support
on the digg site and they fix it on there end for me -

PS Babylon- you could use a proxy server… Just find a proxy server on the internet then put the new IP into your browser using “options”
-
-
On Firefox, where in ‘options’, where do I put a new IP? And how do I find a new IP? I have never dealt with proxy servers before. I swear I will never submit nudity again if I can get in again despite much worse is submitted to Digg with no problem!

Proxy servers:
http://www.digitalcybersoft.com/ProxyList/fresh-proxy-list.shtmlTo change to proxy:
For Internet explorer: go to tools, options, connections, Lan Settings.
Fill in a proxy there
For Firefox: go to tools, options, advanced, network, settings, you need the bottem field, don’t fill in the different separated proxies. You may need to try several different proxies cause some of them don’t work. And they go off line within a certain time after they’re listed on the site and wont work anymore.
Personally Ive never tried to use a proxy on Firefox. It looks much more difficult than internet explorer. I would try internet explorer instead.
You can send a comment to your blog to see if it shows the proxy IP. But amusingly, my own comments using a proxy show up in the Spam box!
If the problem is that Digg is reading your IP and blocking you cause of that, this should solve the problem. However, we dont really know if that is the problem or not.
Let me kow if it works! Im curious!

Thanks for the link! I know nothing about this so let’s see. I went to IE7 so I won’t mess up my Firefox settings. I went to that link and the first address I saw is
87.241.194.26:3128 Anonymous Unknown
Do I put 87.241.194.26 or the full 87.241.194.26:3128 because IP number don’t have that symbol > : and added numbers after : ? I tried both and closed and reopened the browser and the screen is white. But I wrote this at the bottom half where it says Proxy Server. Or do I put the new IP at the top where it says Automatic configuration? And if it’s the bottom half, do I click ‘bypass proxy server for local addresses’?
-
And the port that automatically shows on my IE is 80 if that helps any. I don’t know. Maybe I should give it up because I’m thinking my browsers settings will turn to mush if I screw with the settings.
-
I search that website for the proxies that use my port number, cause I dont really understand if I can change my port number or not. There are plenty of proxies for “80”. Then you just put in the IP without the port number, and don’t change the port number.
No it wont turn your browser settings to mush. After you’re finished using the proxy you can just go back and change the setting again to “automatically detect settings.”
RE: “I tried both and closed and reopened the browser and the screen is white.” Its probably because you werent using a proxy assigned to your port number (i.e. 80)
RE: “Or do I put the new IP at the top where it says Automatic configuration?” No, bottom half.
RE: “And if it’s the bottom half, do I click ‘bypass proxy server for local addresses'”
I wouldnt- I would just keep it simple so you’re just doing this for one site- the Digg site. why make it more complicated? It should work but you may have to try more than one proxy.
Good luck!
