How do I add the ‘Goodreads 2014 Reading Challenge’ as a widget?
https://www.goodreads.com/user/edit?tab=widgetsI already have Goodreads as a widget on my blog. This question is about the ‘Reading Challenge’ which Goodreads runs every year and shows the number of books read in a year.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The only Goodreads widget we can use on WordPress.com blogs is the one you enabled. We cannot use the other reading challenges widget as it is JavaScript. -

Surprisingly you can do the Goodreads challenge widget. Just not the other ones. You can see it on my site (geoffwhaley.com) in the sidebar.
If you go into your Goodreads edit profile and paste the code from the Challenge box into a text box in your widget side bar and save it, it should work (or it does on my site).
However, you can’t do any of the other widgets. I’ve recently asked them to provide customization for the WordPress built widget and would appreciate your input as well! You can see it here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/customizable-goodreads-widget

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for getting in contact. The Goodreads 2015 challenge widget looks great on your blog.
I don’t have a text box in my widget sidebar on my blog to paste the Challenge widget code to. Mine is a free blog on iThemes2 template. I can put a standard Goodreads widget showing books I’m reading/read
and I can autopost book reviews from Goodreads. Just can’t add the Challenge widget.Tania

Hmm, I’m not sure – I actually found that my text box doesn’t update the widget which stinks. You’ll have to probably add the suggestion to add the challenge widgets to the ideas forum.
