How do I add the right hand column to the Twenty Eleven posts?

How do I add the right hand column to the Twenty Eleven posts? It’s on the Home page, but I would like the column on the individual Posts and the other Pages, too. Would like to have the Follow options at least, since I often share links to direct posts from my twitter account.

Do I have to change themes? If so, can I transfer my old blog posts, or must I start over?

I’m a bit of a novice, so appreciate the help!

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

The sidebar column isn’t displayed on individual posts in the Twenty Eleven theme, but you can display it on your blog’s pages. To do this, you can select the Sidebar Template from the page editor for each page where you want the sidebar displayed. You can learn more about page templates here:

    Page Attributes

If you want to keep using the Twenty Eleven theme and have the Follow widget on individual posts, you may want to put the Follow widget in your blog’s footer rather than the sidebar. You can do this by putting the Follow widget in one of the Footer Areas on your Widgets page, under Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard.

If you decide to change themes, you can do that under Appearance > Themes in your dashboard. You don’t have to worry about your blog posts — this only changes the appearance of your blog, not the content. Different themes have different sidebar and widget options, so you can always browse through the options to see if you find something different that you like.

You can also preview your blog with a new theme using the Live Preview link: Changing/Activating New Themes

If you have any questions about this, please let me know!
